UpKeep Secures Strategic Growth Capital from Accel-KKR to Accelerate Its AI-Native Asset-Operations Platform

UpKeep, the AI-native CMMS and asset-operations platform that powers more than 400,000 frontline workers across 60 countries, announced today a strategic growth investment from Accel-KKR. The fresh capital arrives as the company marks a decade since founder Ryan Chan first launched the product from his mother’s garage, and it will fund the next phase of platform expansion, AI integration and go-to-market acceleration.

“Partnering with Accel-KKR is a natural next step in our growth journey,” Chan said. “The platform we are building now stretches that mission across maintenance, safety and learning, with AI woven through every layer.” The investment gives UpKeep the resources to advance its Supernova AI agents, deepen its safety and learning capabilities, and broaden its reach with enterprise customers such as Unilever, Chevron, Caterpillar and McDonald’s.

Strategic Growth Investment from Accel-KKR

Accel-KKR is providing a minority-growth investment that will support UpKeep’s scaling ambitions. “UpKeep is a category leader with a clear vision, a strong product, and a deeply loyal customer base,” said Dean Jacobson, Managing Director at Accel-KKR. Andy Rich, also a Managing Director, added that the firm looks forward to working with Ryan and his team on this next chapter of growth.

The partnership brings more than capital; Accel-KKR’s 25-year track record of scaling software businesses and its global network will help UpKeep accelerate product development and expand into new markets while maintaining its focus on the deskless workforce.

AI-Native Platform Vision

At the heart of UpKeep’s roadmap is Supernova, an AI platform that assigns a dedicated “agent” to each manager, taking action on routine work with the manager’s approval. Chan highlighted that the next decade will be defined by AI-native asset operations: “We’re putting AI agents next to the deskless workforce… that’s the bet behind Supernova.” The new funding will deepen AI research, speed feature rollout, and embed intelligence across maintenance, safety and learning workflows.

By embedding AI directly into the CMMS, UpKeep aims to shift routine decision-making from humans to intelligent assistants, freeing technicians to focus on tasks that truly require human judgment.

Product Suite Expands: Safety, Learn & Studio

UpKeep’s platform now includes several complementary modules:

  • UpKeep Safety – integrates health-and-safety workflows with maintenance work orders, giving teams a single source of truth for compliance.
  • UpKeep Learn – launched recently, this AI-driven learning management system turns SOPs, safety manuals and work instructions into complete, auto-generated courses with quizzes and certification tracking. “UpKeep Learn helps teams bring training into the same system where maintenance and safety work already happens,” Chan noted.
  • UpKeep Studio – lets customers build custom applications that match their unique operational processes.

These capabilities reinforce the company’s vision of a unified platform where maintenance, safety and learning are no longer siloed but operate as a single, AI-enhanced workflow.

Customer Base & Market Reach

More than 400,000 users across 60 countries rely on UpKeep daily, spanning over 4,000 companies that include industry leaders such as Unilever, Siemens, DHL and McDonald’s. The platform’s mobile-first design and AI-driven automation have helped customers reduce unplanned downtime, extend asset life and improve compliance, positioning UpKeep as a durable business with a sizable opportunity as AI reshapes physical-work management.

Why Zillionize Invested

Zillionize invested in UpKeep because it reimagined an established enterprise software category with a mobile-first approach designed for the people who use it most: maintenance technicians. Rather than forcing workers to rely on complex desktop systems, UpKeep enables real-time collaboration, work order management, and asset tracking from any device, making maintenance operations more efficient and accessible. We believe companies that simplify everyday workflows while leveraging cloud technology to improve productivity have the potential to transform mature industries, and UpKeep exemplifies that vision.
