Zillionize Invests in Inversion Space – Building the first affordable, high cadence return vehicle for the commercial and defense industries.

Inversion Space is a startup based in Los Angeles founded by SpaceX, Relativity, and ABL Space Systems alum. Inversion is building low-cost space capsules that will return cargo back to Earth. With the booming launch vehicle industry, it has never been easier and cheaper to get up to space. But these trips are still mainly one-way. With launch solved and improving, now is the time to build an affordable way back from space. Inversion is filling this gap. Inversion’s mission is to build the first affordable, high cadence return capability for the commercial and defense industries. Inversion is the latest company to come out of Y Combinator, a business accelerator with alumni like Relativity, Boom Supersonic, Airbnb, and many others.

Ray is the name of Inversion’s first product. It is a 1-foot diameter space capsule, and it is scheduled for release in 2023. Arc is their second product. It is a low-cost 4-foot diameter space capsule designed to be launched as a payload on any rocket at unprecedented mission cadences. Arc will interface with Government and Commercial Space Stations as well as act as a free flier. It enables high cadence and low-cost resupply and return from space stations, enabling countless commercial applications of LEO. Arc is scheduled for release in 2025.

Co-Founder and CEO, Justin Fiaschetti graduated from Boston University and has spent time working at SpaceX and Relativity Space. His goal is for Inversion to change what space is used for. He believes Inversion will expand the space economy. Austin Briggs is another founder, and he works as the CTO at Inversion. He also graduated from Boston University and previously worked as a Propulsion Development Engineer at ABL Space Systems. The founders met at Boston University and have been working together ever since. While at school, they led their collegiate rocket team of over 30 engineers to design, manufacture, and test advanced rocket engines and rockets.
